There are no words…

“There are no words…”  Four words we often use when we commiserate with the bereaved.  As heartfelt as that is, the truth is actually that there ARE words, but they are too painful, too close to home, too heart-wrenching to contemplate – never mind say.

I am sorry that you never get to hold your child.

I am sorry that you blame yourself for not being able to save him.

I am sorry that your father will not be there to walk you down the aisle.

I am sorry that your children will grow up without their mother.

I am sorry that you have to deal with the reality of having to organize funeral/memorial.

I am sorry that I am another person reminding you of your loss and grief.

I am so sorry….
